thanks for this, would it be possible to make it work with nuendo too? I tried with no luck
This is pretty amazing. I’m gonna put it to work in midi mode. Is there something similar for the regular mode? Such as using click for metronome or link to use it as in studio one to link the plugin control with a knob? I’m not able to set it up myself in the midi remote menu.
Sorry for the late reply. I’ll look in to this over the next few days and see what needs to be done to get working in Nuendo
In the standard mode some of the buttons don’t actually send any signal, such as click. So for now it only works in midi mode.
But, I’m planning to do a full overhaul that uses the studio one mode, which would give access to every button and make everything customisable. This will take a bit longer though as every function needs to be remapped manually. But it’s in the plan
I just accidentally figured out I can map a lot of the buttons on my faderport 8 by using it as a mackie controller and then mapping it accordingly. Most buttons I left untouched, but some of them can really expand my selection of shortcuts.
Hi
I am trying to use this script for my Faderport 8. I have been on ChatGPT for 3 hours and “we” haven’t managed to reach fully working solution.
So I have several questions:
Is my Faderport 8 supposed to work in the traditionally AND in the “new” way using this script? What I mean: Can I have the usual faders AND then by switching get some new function?
Can anyone provide a full installation guide to this, because it doesn’t work here, sadly.
And does it work in Nuendo as well?
Really hope for some help!

Independent of the scripting genre “music studio scripting”, I can tell that whenever ChatGPT failed with having a script work as expected (was the case sometimes), Claude Code in most of such cases solved it (for example on Powershell).
Not sure whether this will work with the music studio libraries and concepts “scripting genre” without additional documentation provided to that AI, but maybe worth a try. Claude Code can resume from the most recent output you have from ChatGPT + your prompts about what doesn’t work yet.
No, it is using only this script I think. With this script you won’t see anything on the displays since it’s using MIDI mode. I recently wrote a script that is using the native Studio One protocol, which has way nicer displays than Mackie mode. The device now looks the same as in Studio One and has similar functionality. Faderport 8 midi remote script (it’s only for the Faderport 8 though)
Wow, that’s fantastic. I’ll give a try!
Thanks!
im exciting about this. i can’t wait to try!!
