Fading multiple events at once not working (?)

Hi,

I just sliced an audio event in multiple events starting from hit points and I wanted to apply fade in/outs to new events with handles, as I usually do, but this time it doesn’t work; I can only apply fades in…

Is there a tiny slice in there that is ‘max’ faded?

Hi @Kearley , I’m afraid I don’t understand; what do you mean exactly?

If one of the events is already faded, you can’t fade them all in tandem, as that one cannot be further made to fade. Like with velocity in the midi editor, selecting a bunch of notes and increasing or decreasing their velocity past a given amount that would bring any of them out of velocity range (above 127 or below 0) is obviously not possible.

HI @jmtapadas, I get what you mean about velocities but in my case I hadn’t ‘extreme’ fades in any of the events… Maybe some little one - unless I’d missed someone bigger - but now I can control because in the meanwhile I deleted those events and rerecorded the part…

(with ‘extreme’ fades I mean when you drag one handle from one side completely to the opposite side of one event, that corresponds to having a 127 velocity in a note…)

I’ll do some experiment, anyway.

By the way: do you keep auto fades active at a project level? Or do you use them in case of need? Do you keep the standard straight line or have you changed with a more curved one? (I saw a video about it recently and I was asking myself if there’s so big a difference…)

Thank you for answering,

Art

Ya sorry my suggestion was vague.

Sometimes when using hit points or ALT-SLICE, you end up with some really tiny clips in your selection.

You can only start a fade as far back as the start of the clip. So a tiny short clip would allow a shorter fade than a longer clip.

No problems!

Thank you for replying, anyway!
