Failing instruments/players-matching during Finale to Dorico mxl-import

I’m trying to import male choir-scores from Finale into a template in Dorico. It’s a TTBB-choir using a two-staff-layout. Everything is properly set up regarding instruments etc and in the Dorico template I’ve made sure that both player and instruments in the Dorico template are named identically to the Finale file (ASFAIK).

Tenor part not matching:

Yet Dorico somehow won’t recognize the Tenor-part and instead adds that as a new single player. The Bass-part however is perfectly matched with the Bass Section Player in Dorico. Just opening the mxl file (as opposed to importing into the template) leaves me with just two single players.

Incorrect octave for tenor:

Another issue is that Dorico won’t identify the octave transposition in the tenor part and sets it one octave too low. This could be totally unrelated to the other problem or perhaps it is exactly that that is messing with Doricos matching system.

Does anyone have similar experiences? Any pieces of advice?

Attching both Finale-, mxl- and dorico-files.

MXL test - opened mxl-file.dorico (657.7 KB)

MXL test - imported into template.dorico (871.3 KB)

MXL test - blank template.dorico (792.7 KB)

MXL test - original file exported.mxl (3.1 KB)

MXL test - original Finale file.musx.zip (109.5 KB)

I would recommend that you read the Ballad of the Tenors:

Dorico always imports tenors as the original, “transposing” Tenor, which may not match with the “as written” Tenor.

And do you think this inconsistency may be the reason that Dorico fails to identify the Tenor in the mxl-file and match it to the Tenor in the Dorico-file?
