Fast forward amount in transport window - editable?

Newbie question alert!!
I’m on Dorico Pro Version 4.3.31.1134 (Mar 29 2023)
I read in the manual that the fast forward increment in the pop-out transport window (press F2 to show) is supposed to be a half note, but when I press it, it only goes forward by seconds. This results in irregular beat/bar amounts in fast forward.
Is there a setting/preference where I can change this?
Thanks,
Brad

No, there aren’t any settings for how fast-forward or rewind work, I’m afraid.

Thanks for responding, Mr. Spreadbury.
Any thoughts as to why the fast forward is advancing by seconds and not by half notes? I can live with the “fuzzy” FF & RW, of course, but the curious part of me is…well…curious.
Thanks,
Brad

I think perhaps the description in the Operation Manual isn’t quite correct in this regard. At the default tempo of quarter = 120, moving forwards or backwards by one second will indeed be equal to moving by a half note, but that will only hold true for the default tempo. (cc @Lillie_Harris, in case you want to make any adjustments to the manual in future.)

Yes! That makes perfect sense.
Thanks for following up, Mr. Spreadbury. I’ll mark this as “solved”.
Take care,
Brad

How curious, thanks for the heads-up – it’ll go on the list.

Ahhh, “the list”. Does anyone else think of Jurassic Park and Samuel L. Jackson when that comes up? :joy:
