With auto-save, Cubase momentarily freezes. That freeze can last up to 15 seconds with a lot of VariAudio data (for me). Wouldn’t it be possible to save VariAudio data separately, and only if there are changes made? It would also reduce the size .cpr files…

Me too wildly annoying autosave. it turns on unexpectedly, just at that moment when you need to do something quickly and keep waiting for about 20 seconds. At this time, I commemorate the programmers of Steinberg with bad words. I do not want, but how else? SSD-system disk. My projects are approximately the size of 50-70mb. Not so much for a small orchestra. In my opinion, it’s time to change the autosave model and make sure that it does not interrupt the work!

I agree with this big time! It’s been annoying me for several years.
Auto-saving and even manual saving need to be switched to the background and should not interrupt the workflow.

Yes, this has been requested for many years now. Not sure how other DAWs that save fast even in huge sessions do it, but let’s hope it will come to Cubase soon.
