Faster way to enter dotted Notes while in "pitch before duration" mode?

Hey!

I’m looking for a faster way to enter dotted Notes while in pitch before duration mode with a midi Keyboard (coming from finale), because i dont want to always move away with my hand from the numpad (Working with: left Hand uses midi keyboard, right hand enters Notevalues on Numpad)

My current approach is:

playing a note, entering a notevalue - and then entering a dot with “.” (but my hand has to move).

Or i click with the mouse on the dot-Symbol first (but my hand has to move to the mouse).

Is there a way to activate the Dot-Symbol permanently?

I also read that i can double-Click a notevalue for a Dotted Note - but this is only working in the other Writing mode for me.

The “:”-Sign on the num-Pad seems to have no Shortcut - is there a way to Add a shortcut for the Activation of Dotted-Notes?

Maybe there is a Solution i dont see atm so thanks in advance

Welcome o the forum @Leon_musicfridge!

You could add the Numpad dot as a shortcut for rhythm dot. That’s actually what I did (even though I’m using duration before pitch.)

Go to Preferences > Keycommands > Note Input > Dotted Notes (as you can see, you may type “dot” in the search bar.)
