FCP OMF Clip levels

Hi,

Anyone know anything about retaining clip levels going from FCP 7.3 to N6.5? With every OMF export I get the levels seem to be reset to 0. Bummer.

Dont use OMF is the first step as clip levels are not supported in OMF…

That’s not correct. I’ve had zillions of OMF’s containing clip levels from AVID, for instance.

Besides, out of the box, FCP 7 only exports OMF, not AAF. I know you can use Automatic Duck to allow FCP to export an AAF, but I wanted to know if there’s anything the editor or I can do to make it work without the extra software.

Alright, get this:

I imported an OMF generated with the help of Automatic Duck. No levels. Hmmm…

I fired up N5.5 and imported the same OMF. Levels! Huh…?

I went back to N6.5 and imported the same OMF. Levels!!!

I guess somehow something got reset by using N5.5 and now everything works like a charm.
