Feature Request: Adjustable slash length in chord symbols

Feature Request: Adjustable slash length in chord symbols

It would be great if we could adjust the length of the slash in chord symbols like G/B independently.

The slash often looks too long or short, and there’s currently no way to change just the slash length globally.

Also, the slash is linked to the same text settings used for chord alterations like ♯ and ♭. So if I change the size to make the slash look right, the ♯/♭ can end up being too small or too large.

It would be really helpful to have a separate setting for the slash, so we could adjust its length without affecting the size of ♯/♭.

This would make it much easier to get chord symbols like G/B, Am/E, C/G, etc. looking the way we want.

Thanks!

This has been requested for years, but there’s no way to control the slash size and position through the interface. I gave up waiting/asking for this years ago and just wrote a doricolib file that gives you some control. Here’s a link:

Once you have that doricolib file properly installed, you will have a functioning Chord Symbols Slash Font font style that will give you control over the size of the slash. You can also edit the doricolib file to adjust the Y offset positioning too, which is also not available through the interface.

Let me know if you have any issues with it and welcome to the forum!
