When saving an e.g. PLE preset, we need to scroll all the way to the top of our list of presets in order to access the ‘Save Changes As Preset’ button. In many cases (like if we have hundreds/thousands of presets) this means excessive scrolling. Especially if we are editing dozens of PLE presets. This is also the case with LE presets.
Also, when we want to overwrite a key command preset, we have to click ‘Save Preset…’ and type in the exact name of the preset we want to overwrite. And this is tricky because the KC dialogue doesn’t tell us the name of the currently loaded preset.
Yes there are all sorts of UI/UX problems with the P/LE. I’ve probably driven development half mad posting about all of them
In the old PLE, you used to be able to alt+click in the name to rename it, but I also used that to select/copy-paste the name before saving over it again to get the exact name.
Another one is in the Audio Connections, for example. No option to overwrite current preset. You always have to type the name again and then overwrite window shows up.
It really misses options like Save / Save As / Rename etc. - the most basic options.
If you’re trying to resave something in which no changes haven’t been made, the save doesn’t appear (silly UX protocol, as someone might want to save a duplicate with a new name before editing)
if you just do a non consequential edit, like add and then delete a space to the description - it should appear.
