Feature Request: "Calculate MIDI latency compensation" Mode

I’ve been reading up on making MIDI recordings and saw some talk about correctly setting the MIDI input latency compensation.

I would love to see a button next to the “MIDI input latency compensation” spin box which, when clicked, would temporarily put Dorico into a “listening” mode. Then it would play a metronome click out the speakers and prompt the user to play any MIDI key directly on the click. Hopefully then, Dorico could calculate the latency automatically.

I think that would save time instead of trying to tweak it, record, then come back and tweak it again.

Thanks for such great software!

Yes, it would be a nice feature to add. Maybe one day! I’m afraid it’s not currently close to the top of our list of things likely to appear in the near future.
