Feature Request: Direct Offline Processing Preview Should Follow Actual Monitoring Path

Does anyone else find DOP Preview a bit misleading for dialogue work?

Most of my dialogue is monitored through the Center channel, but DOP Preview doesn’t seem to follow the actual monitoring path. Even simple EQ decisions can sound different between Preview and normal playback.

I often end up applying the process just to hear it properly in context, then undoing it if needed.

Would love to see an option for DOP Preview to follow Track Routing or Control Room monitoring.

DOP, is equal to or akin to a mastering process, therefore you would need to render to know.

Yep, especially during dialogue cleanup, it would be handy to be able to listen to your DOP Preview through DX bus.

+1 Absolutely should make this an option. I would disagree that it’s a mastering process, since it’s applied to the file before any inserts shape it further.
