Steinberg, please add the ability to monitor in realtime through Direct Offline Processing effects just like a standard insert effect. I want to be able to open the DOP window, load an effect (maybe on a bass guitar track for example), and be able to hit play on the main Cubase transport, so I can listen to my entire mix play while I adjust the DOP effect for the bass guitar. Once I’m happy with it, I would then hit “Apply”.

What would be th benefit opposed to just putting the fx in one of the 16 insert slots?
The purpose of this feature is offline processing. Yes, insert slots can monitor in real-time, but if using insert slots, in order to go “offline”, the track must either be frozen, or rendered in place.

My feature request for DOP would be to exclude operations like Normalise from it completely. It’s so annoying having to click-close that window every time, instead of hotkey+enter to get it done. Ugh…
