When exporting files (e.g. to PDF), the destination folder is linked to the original file, which is logical. Unfortunately, the file name options are program preferences, which I find illogical, as I often have different needs for different files. While it may be necessary with orchestral works to have the layout names appended to the PDF file names, there are plenty of instances, like with songs or solo works, in which I don’t need this, and I have to keep changing the naming defaults for each different file or to rename the files once I’ve made them. Wouldn’t it be more logical for the naming options to be file preferences instead of program preferences?
Gee, a recent discussion and I missed it. I guess opinions are divided. At the risk of reiterating, all I know is that it causes me (and a few others) a lot of extra work.
