Feature Request: Galley Mode – Zoom to available vertical space

Forgive me if this is already a feature, but I haven’t been able to find it.

When I use Galley Mode, I often want to see every part in my score as large as I can. For big scores, the zoom behavior is a little jerky as I zoom, making it hard to make everything fit precisely. It would be nice to have a key command that would do it in one shot. It would be nice if there also was a maximum zoom so it wouldn’t ever zoom it really closely if there we only two staves, for example.

It would also be nice to have this as a toggle setting so that it would always zoom it to whatever instruments remain when an instrument filter is on. That way, when fewer instruments are shown, the viewport would zoom in a little closer to show more detail. Or when I resize the window, or toggle the bottom zone, the zoom will still show everything as large as it possibly can.

I’m not aware of such a feature in Dorico either. In Sibelius, there’d be the Fit Page Height button which does what I think you’re asking about.

Hopefully someone here can correct me on this, but I think the only alternatives in Dorico would be either the new Fill View in Dorico 6, or the View → Zoom → Page Height option (which only works in Page View). Neither of these is exactly what you’ve described, and I agree that such a feature would be helpful.
