The ability to toggle off “Avoid collisions” is only for avoiding items on vertically adjacent staves/systems.
I’d like to have the ability to toggle off “Avoid collisions” for objects on a single system.
This would make it simpler to resolve collisions around the beginnings of sections and under repeat markers/volta lines.
As it is, I can’t just move the one or two things out of the way, I have to move everything.
Hi @jakeysworld, can you post a Dorico file with an example of such collisions?
Also if with sections you mean flow headings, there are flow headings overrides with customisable top and bottom margins.
Thanks for your reply. By sections I mean rehearsal marks. there’s the rehearsal mark (e.g. take it from the B section), there’s a chord symbol … maybe there’s some volta lines from the previous section. It’s always a cluster where everything has to get moved around. This image isn’t too bad, but I have to nudge the Gs over to get out of the way of the volta lines, which then have to move down, and the 2nd ending has to get shortened. Maybe the rehearsal mark moves over to. That’s 5 manual moves … on every section … on every layout … for every flow…
9 tunes in my workshop, min. 2 sections per tune, 4 instruments, 5 moves per section. that’s potentially 360 manual moves (or more) for this workshop project, though not all sections have repeat endings.
