Feature Request: individual recording latency adjustments for different MIDI hardware synths

Background/Context for MIDI hardware synths:

Many modern keyboards/synths have to be setup “manually” (i.e. not as ext.instruments) with their audio inputs (and outputs) and separate MIDI channels separate so that they can work with their plugin instruments that manage their control. As a result, it appears that individual recording latency (audio or MIDI-related) cannot be setup in Cubase.

Recording Audio Latency:

As some of these have their own latency in the hardware processing, it would ideal if you could setup manual recording offsets, ideally with the ability to store these settings to go with the audio interface settings (sample rate and latency).

Recording MIDI Latency:

Hardware MIDI devices also seem to have varying degrees of latency when recording them, often down to their specific MIDI drivers or the out-of-the-box drivers on Windows (with the new MIDI stack seemingly reducing MIDI latency quite noticeably).

It would therefore be really good if there were a way to compensate for this in the Cubase MIDI device setup - maybe this could be specifically added when the new Windows MIDI and MIDI 2.0 stack is directly supported in Cubase.

Interesting idea! It would require the ability to reliably determine when latency of a MIDI channel is the culprit.

As you stated, the new Windows MIDI appears to be improved.

Yes - as the difference can be both MIDI and Audio it is a challenge, but I was testing various latencies and had Audio and MIDI channels recording three different synths triggering a note on each: two of them (with new MIDI and faster UsbMidi driver) had MIDI start just around the audio (within a few ms), and the one with its own Midi driver had MIDI coming in around 10 milliseconds later. Not 100% perfect science, but maybe enough to align things better.
