I have heard that 8va lines may apply only in Full Score when “8ve shifts cannot simply be done by merely moving hands”.
In this case, I guess it can be an ideal design if allowing users to set a specified 8va line to be only shown / hide in a specified layout.
(or even always-hide in part score layouts.)
