For some phases of work, it is very helpful that Dorico jumps to the next line, the next page. At other times, it can be an impediment. I request an option in which the music stays within the viewing area at all times and does not move until the user moves it.
For example, I often have to work with a single system showing since it is surrounded by source material. I input an indication at end of a line and Dorico thinks I finished with that line and jumps on. But I haven’t finished and must now search for where I was. The worst case is where Dorico jumps pages later, because it thinks I want to continue in a voice that hasn’t been used for many measures.
Or Dorico shifts the view up or down upon inputting an indication; this might be helpful if large areas of the page are showing, but it can move the music out the small frame I am working within.
Yes, I know there is galley view. It is impossible to do what I need to do in galley view.
