It would be awesome if the “repeat n times” functionality would also include a setting for “open repeat”. As a practical example, it’s sometimes common in Jazz and Pop music (and I suppose in Musical theater in the form of vamps) that a section of a couple of bars is repeated (e. g. for an extended improvisation) until a cue is given.
Since playback in such a section is not an issue, one can just use a simple repeat and add (vamp) as system text.
I know. But having this as repeat system object one could have a consistent style, at least.
I second this, and failing an “open repeat” structure, just a way to set custom text for the repeat.

How would playback work with an “open repeat”? I have fount that using a horizontal system line over the repeated measure(s) with the text vamp or safety centered in the line–in addition to repeat signs or double bar lines–makes the structure perfectly clear.
