The Save color presets dialogue is odd. Its not at all what we expect. For example it’s impossible to give a preset a name such as “Rock Group Color Preset” and another called “Orchestra Colors” We also need Cubase to take a lead and color primary groups with some kind of standard - there is no industry standard but if Cubase had a standard set of colours for say orchestral sections, guitars, drumkits, World, synths etc, this would be very handy.
COlors need a re-think.

hi @ZeroZero ,
yes, absolutely!

IMO, the GUI coloring system in Cubase (Pro) 15 is a big failure, since no more clear color values can be selected, somehow everything’s “relative”. No more clear RGB values, like in the older RGB color value pickers.
And the color system is much too restricted now. It’s not even possible anymore to exactly recreate any manually configured main GUI colors from older versions of Cubase. Although these colors can still be moved over by importing an *.SRF user profile, which had previously been manually exported from an older version of the DAW (if that verson isn’t too much older than the current version).

compared to the above, the track coloring system is not bad at all. But inflexible, so an exportable user preset feature would really be VERY helpful.
All too often, whenever I have to load someone else’s project, I need to reset the color scheme to “my standard”. Which is time consuming, and also a bit annoying.
Cheers,
Markus

I would add that the colors are a bit flat and stilted. i have often thought that a variable such as a two tone blend approach could bring more to the eye.

Or how about patterns? say diagonal lines left to right & right to left with a coloured background?
This could give three times the amount of options.
I think when more colours are used, the difference between them becomes very subtle which for me slows down my workflow, could be age related though
The issue is going to be scalability. A Cubse color has many roles - tracks. mixers, etc. Something which looks great on one monitor, or in one window, might look terrible when minaturised.
