You can of course play it however you want, but I don’t think Bird ever played a note on the & of 1 in bar 8.

I’m not sure what your intention is with this, but if it’s to emulate hand copying, every jazz hand copyist would have beamed eighths in groups of 4 here because it would be less pen strokes.
