Feature request: record real-time tempo adjustments

I’ve just created a piece that has extensive, dramatic changes in tempo. I used the tempo track after the fact to adjust the tempo. It works. However, I would love to be able to hit record and manually adjust the tempo track in real time. At least, that would serve as a time-saving starting point. From there, of course I would expect to further tweak it manually outside of record mode.

There is a kind of tempo recording (Cubase Pro). You can find it in the tempo editor, open the “e” on the tempo track). Unfortunately it is not assignable to a midi controller.

If I recall correctly the mouse wheel might work on it. There was an old thread on this (so maybe it has changed since). The main problem was that while you could write Tempo data in realtime during playback, it didn’t actually adjust the Tempo of what you are listening to while you do it. Without any realtime aural feedback the changes you’re making are at best a guess.

Too bad, it would be nice to ‘conduct’ Cubase.
