Mac user here and I use trackpad. I don’t know if it works properly with a mouse.
I can scroll up and down in MixConsole window but not left and right. I have to either drag the horizontal scrollbar or use the left track list. It doesn’t make sense since you can scroll up and down or left and right in the project window, but not in MixConsole window.
Yeah it’s really weird and annoying. It doesn’t work properly either with mouse or track pad. Would love to see it implemented just like in Pro Tools, Logic and Fender Studio Pro where it works as expected.
I personally have no interest in fancy new features before basic ones like these work.
Mac user here, I use mouse only and if I scroll with weel on mixer channels faders the view scroll left and right. Just for precaution I have deactivated the weel parameter edit in Cubase preferences.
I’m a mac user with apple trackpad running cubase 15.0.21. it also works for me but I discovered the quirk is you need to have your cursor in the section between the track name at the very bottom, and below pan. I’m not sure if that’s a design decision or not, or if it’s just how it works on my machine. It would be nice if I could have my cursor anywhere in the mix console, but it does work.
It works as you say (with the trackpad) but ONLY in that specific area - and it’s way too easy to nudge a fader while doing it.
Regarding the mouse - it doesn’t work at all - except when I hover over the scrollbar - but then I might as well click and drag the scroll bar.
I don’t see why it doesn’t work anywhere in the console both with mouse and trackpad like in other DAWs. It seems like a weird omission on Steinbergs part.
Oh that is weird. Then maybe it’s a bug and not a design decision (which would make more sense to me).
Yeah… I have that happen sometimes too. I usually keep the cursor lower than the fader area but agree, hope they can make this work better. I feel like proper mac scrolling behavior has been a long-and-winding road for Steinberg to implement… I remember not too long ago when honestly none of this worked at all
Ah, that’s interesting – mine was set to enable for that. However, my hopes were dashed upon discovering it made no change on my end (even after a restart). I’m on a desktop mac studio with the apple magic trackpad - wonder if the implementation is different than the macbook trackpads for some reason.
Yes, I’m on a desktop Mac also. Can’t use mouse or track pad for horizontal scroll even though it works great in Pro Tools, Logic and Studio Pro on the same computer.
