Feature Request: Separate settings for dynamics and articulations?

I can’t come up with engraving settings for the vertical spacing of static dynamics, articulations, and static dynamics combined with articulations.

E.g., The accent mark needs a different setting than the staccato and tenuto. The f needs a different setting than the p.

And when those notations—dynamics + articulations—have to be combined, it’s worse. And when ties enter the picture, worse still.

I’ve been experimenting with the settings that exist and I can’t find one that’s even a good average, which means more engraving fuss for me.

Can you give some specific examples (screenshots) of spacing that doesn’t look right to you?

One example that causes me a lot of ‘post-tuning’;

What don’t you like about this? You would like the typographic baseline to be the same across all 4?

It looks to me like Dorico is aligning the midline of the dynamics rather than their baselines. If you put the mf and the mp on the same baseline, for example, either the mp would appear too low or the mf would appear too high, because of the height relationship between the m and the f. But you can always force this kind of alignment if you prefer.

Here is just a quick comparison with a few variables.

1st staff: The f is too close to the staff while the mp is too far away, but they’re both placed according to the same setting.

2nd Staff: The f is too far away from the accent but the mp is fine with respect to the staccato, both again according to the same setting.

3rd Staff: I’d prefer for both of the dynamics to be a bit higher, but not equally higher.

While trying out another ‘problem’ on the forum today, I got

Not pretty vertical placement by default. But, can be fixed in Engrave Mode, naturally.
