I was just playing around with a demo version of Ableton Live, as lots of people in my vicinity are raving about it.
Quite frankly, I don’t think we could ever be friends: The user interface is cruddy, the workflow is awkward and it appears very unprofessional in lots of respects.
But it does have one really cool feature - the “Session View”, where you can stack your MIDI or audio loops in different slots, trigger them and then print what you’ve been doing to the Arranger view, which works similarly to that of Cubase. Sort of like a Beat Designer on steroids…
Any chance of Cubase getting something like this? Or would we be running into a patent isssue here?
