Feature Request: Start page count from this page

Often when publishing music, pre-music pages are not assigned page numbers. Dorico feature “Insert Page Number Change” comes very handy here, but if you want to have page number design such as “1 of @pagecount” starting from the first page of music, then the page count number will be wrong because it will always display the number of all pages within the projects.

I would like to have a feature to right click on any page in the Engrave mode and select: “Start page count from this page”. This would help to not have to change my Page Template for every project and prevent some layout issues, or accidentally export the score with the wrong page count number.

Welcome to the forum, @harim. Thanks for this request, which I have made a note of and which we will consider for implementation in a future version.

I wonder if the ability to have a Flow of front material that didn’t contain music could work with this idea.

Currently I usually tend to add title pages, where needed, in its own layout in order to avoid disturbing any pages already formatted, and then I move the front matter to the front in a PDF program. That lets me change the page numbering to that section, which is relatively short.
