I often find myself entering concerted music with multiple staves selected in note entry mode. I love this feature. However, I also have several players doubling instruments—like four trumpets doubling flugels—and therefore if I want a chord in four trumpets I have to enter the music in trumpet 1, flugel 1, trumpet 2, flugel 2, and then move the parts down to their respective staves. This requires exiting note entry mode, then individually selecting each part to move it. It’s a lot of mouse clicks.
If I want to put in articulations, I can do that easily in note entry mode—when I have a string of chords with the same articulation. But if I have stretches of long-short-long-etc., I have to jump around the keyboard a lot.
So, here are things that would make this process so much more efficient:
-
Allow selecting non-adjacent staves for chord entry.
-
Allow for selecting multiple staves at once to add articulations, including the ability to advance from one note to the next on all staves at once to add articulations outside of note entry mode.
