Bug / UX - Pressing Enter
When pressing enter in order to rename a Modulator, it fails to rename it. Instead you can only press “okay” to rename. Took me some time to figure this out.
UX - Renaming Expectations
Once I renamed a Macro, I changed the name of the top bar but I was actually expecting it to change the name of the knob itself. Since it’s a single, big knob, that was my expectation.
UX - Only 8 Mods to a Track
We are limited to 8 modulators per track. I personally can only imagine limited scenarios where I would need more.
Scenario 1) Creating a Macro interface to represent important parts of a VST for the purpose of NOT having top open the VST interface itself. In this example, Macros in Cubase may be easier to read and less cluttered than the VST above. I would find it easier to just focus on important parameters without the overwhelming interface of the VST. However, the limit of 8 Macros may not work out.
Why use Macros instead of QCs?
Macros are easier to read and contain added features.
Suggestion - Pages/Banks of Mods
In order to prevent/limit lots of horizontal scrolling, do we need pages? Each page in the bottom view shows 8 mods. We push a button to the next page to show additional mods. Or, could you copy Ableton Live’s approach?
Ableton Live allows you to multiple “banks” or groups of Macros that can be expanded or collapsed as a group…
