In earlier versions when you call the tool menu by right-clicking and pressholding the items with multiple tools, the selection menu would appear right under the cursor.
The way it used to be in earlier versions, was the best way.
This fader is awkward.
Do not get it. If you want to make it a fader, make its movement horizontal so it does not block the view. Isn’t that logical?! The way it was before (a little square in the middle) was the best way. I still intuitively try to go there first.
to me all major GUI changes since N13 are rather annoying than helpful.
having this little volume “field” at the beginning of an event constantly leads to accidently clicking into it when you simply want to grab an event
in N13 you could immediately tell which events had clip gains in it because of that horizontal line. This is impossible now.
inverted colors of a selected event (especially when muted) completely destroyed my workflow in dialogue editing. Almost everything is customizable but Steinberg for whatever reason refuses to make this optional. Many users have complained about it
I guess N13 will be my last and forever Nuendo version unfortunately
I guess it depends. However, I don’t really see how it’s a problem, at all. If you want to create a fade the triangle appears when you hoover over it, and you would have to hoover over it regardless in order to create the fade. If you want to just see if there is a fade without adjusting it then you can still see that because of the fade line itself which you can set to be always visible.
In preferences you can set it to never be visible.
I guess that’s indeed impossible. On the other hand maybe just looking at the waveform will give enough information?
Funny that you write clip gain because gain was never shown by that line. Only attenuation worked. So the display part of that feature worked only in 50% of the cases. That’s pretty broken in my book.
In preferences you can set it to never be visible.
Yes, but then you don’t see the clip gain at all unless you select the event to have it shown in the info line. Not a prefered option as well. This feature absolutely has no advantage compared to how it was in N13
when you work on the specific event, you must select it, then cut it and whatever else… while it is selected, you can’t see fades handles. To see it, you need to click anywhere then hover to see where that stupid triangle is.
All these unneeded steps take waste my time.
I do not understand these modifications. They are supposed to make one’s life easier, and they don’t!
You have turned down your “Event Volume Curve and Fade Brightness” to black.
Black want be visible over a selected event which turns to black if the event opacity is fully up. Set your “Event Volume Curve and Fade Brightness” to something brighter and you will see it again.
well - i work with audio material (sound archives etc) which mostly need attenuation. So it’s rather around 70% attenuation, 30% boost - thus a visible line is quite useful in most cases.
Besides - when receiving AAFs from video editors (who wildly level their clips sometimes) it is really helpful to immidiately see which clips have been attenuated
