Feedback Loop with Yamaha AG06MK2

When I use the “Steinberg built-in ASIO Driver” I get a kind of feedback loop, the input meter/bar goes to red (see screenshot). I tried all kind of Input/output/controlroom on/off and AG06 hardware configurations, the effect never goes away.

Strangely this does not happen with the “Yamaha Steinberg USB ASIO” driver.

Any ideas? Thanks!

We might be able solve this issue should you really want to but why bother when the Yamaha ASIO is a much better option? Is there some reason you don’t want to use the proper driver for your device?

Thanks! With larger CPU heavy projects I had some playback crackles with e.g. EzBass and so I tried various things and also switched to “Steinberg built-in ASIO Driver” which seemed to help and also reduced the latency. Thats why.

That’s odd…..Built in ASIO has very high fixed latency…I can see it might be less prone to crackles if you had the Yamaha buffers set lower but I don’t see how it would also improve latency.

Hmm, I dont see a buffer size with the “built-in”

That’s what I mean by it has fixed latency, it has no buffer adjustment……though actually it is lower than your Yamaha at 512 which is kind of surprising.

Where is the To PC switch set on your mixer….loopback will create the feedback but sure you realise this already….otherwise might be worth making sure the mixer is not set up for windows audio too (as I think it may be a WDM wrapper rather than true ASIO)

To PC switch=DRY CH 1-2, but I tried all 3 positions with no change.
