fermatas and multi-bar rests

Hello,

I want to have a fermata attached to a barline splitting a multi-bar rest in two, but Dorico always separates the bar before the fermata from the multi-bar rest too. Am I missing something? I don’t want to use workarounds with text since it’s in a big score.

No, you’re not missing anything. At present, a fermata will always break a multi-bar rest—since, in principle, a fermata is attached to a rhythmic event.

I do agree that this is one of the rare instances where it would make sense for the multi-bar rest to not be broken.
