When importing field recordings, is there a way to make the line up with the time code of the clip it is replacing? Whenever I do it, I have to manually align the field recording and then use the align tool.
Alternatively, is there a way to import an XLM or similar so it automatically imports the original field recordings instead of using AAF import?
I can do this in Resolve/Fairlight, so it doesn’t make sense that you can’t do it in Nuendo.
The current project I’m working on came from Premiere, and we needed to get it into Resolve for colour work. We exported an XML and imported it into Resolve, referencing the original 32bit float files. All the audio layers were brought in synced, and I can select any clip and choose which channel of the Polly file I want to access. I can also bring in another clip, let’s say, recorded on a bodypack, put it on a new track, select the new clip and the one I want to sync it to and sync by time code. I was hoping that Nuendo 15 update would handle audio at least as well as video editing software without having to spend another AU$800. Sorry for the rant, but I was hoping for a substantial upgrade in this area. XML has been around for ages, and I can’t understand why it’s not implemented in Nuendo
Didn’t read your question properly, so…
The Field Recorder Audio Import does just that.
Select a file in the timeline, search for the originals (or alternatives) and import the new audio (any track from the Multichannel Field Recordings) at the exact same place of your “original”.
That being said, if there is no metadata present in your original file, it can be a real PITA.
But that goes for any import of Field Recordings, without metadata, you are lost in space.
@Fredo I know that Ediload has direct compatibility with Protools. But what about Nuendo? When you use it with Nuendo do you create an AAF and then import that?
