Figured bass notation for partimento

Hi,

I am trying to add figured bass as, for example, 8/3/6 (i.e. octave, third and 6th above the bass). Even when I force it by typing !836, I get 863.

Suggestions?

Thank you,

I cannot answer your question, but I wonder why 863 would not work for you. Can you explain to me how this would change the interpretation? (I’m asking because I’ve already been commissioned to engrave scores with figured bass, and I know I’m nowhere near an expert, and I’d like to learn those nuances)
Thanks in advance!

Thank you, Marc!

Fuorno, a partimento master, used this notation. It is easier for me, as a beginner, to make up the right hand.

There are many different conventions for figured bass. Dorico can currently handle many, but not all varieties.

Thank you @Janus and @atudor, I did not know that 6 and 3 could be inverted like that

You mean like this?

Use 15,10,6, and set the property to show compound intervals as simple.

Many thanks! That does it.
