Figured Bass - Unwanted Info Appearing

I’m working with a figured bass score, and Dorico is doing some things I can’t wrap my head around. In movement 1, I’m trying to copy the bass line from m. 1 - 12 to 13 - 24. However, the figured bass symbols will not copy. Any ideas why?

Also, the violone is the solo instrument here. Dorico is adding some strange figures beneath the solo violone part that shouldn’t be there. If I erase them, they erase from the harpsichord part too. I want the correct figures in the harpsichord part, but not the gobbly-gook under the solo violone part.

Thanks for helping a frustrated user!

Make sure the figured bass is also selected before copying. Library→Layout Options→Players→Figured Bass.

Awesome - thanks! Any ideas on how I can copy and paste the music so it includes the figured bass symbols?

You could try in Galley View and draw a “rubber band“ selection including the figured bass.

Ah - I see how to use that now. Thanks!

You don’t really copy Figured Bass. Like Chords, it is available to all staves, as shown in the Layout Options checkboxes.

It should be enough just to turn on Figured Bass for the Contrabass, and add the music.

(Note that if the Contrabass has a different note, the figure will change, to show the same chord, just on a different bass note!)
