File > Close exits Cubase Pro 15 :(

It used to be that selecting File > Close would close the currently active project. Now in Cubase Pro 15, it closes Cubase altogether. This is super annoying because it takes Cubase a Looooong time to open.

Activate this in the Hub Settings.

It shouldn’t. When starting Cubase 15 Pro it takes 7 seconds for the hub to appear on a newly booted system here.

Adding to what @KT66 said:
A look at the VSTscannermaster will reveal the culprits. It’s usually caused by some 3rd party phone home plugins.

Please give more details. I have a new Windows PC, plenty of resources but Cubase startup definitely takes longer than 7 seconds, mostly due to my Native Instruments and Artutia VSTs.. if there’s a way to throttle the startup I surely want to know. Thanks in advance!

Thank you! I will try this That said, I think they have a bug with File > Close

This makes it seem like you are talking about opening projects when everyone else is talking about opening Cubase.

I have Arturia FX 5, Analog Lab Pro and V Collection 11 Pro here, along with Kontakt 8 and various Kontakt libraries. I also have a variety of other vendor VSTi’s and FX plugins as well.

As @Reco29 suggested, have a look for a file called vstscannermaster.log. It will tell you the time spent scanning each plugin (times should be in the millisecond range). If you see something different, it might give you a clue.

Thank you for this suggestion to open Hub on close - it solved my problem (though I still think it’s a little odd - there used to be a difference between Fiie>Close and File>Quit). Nevertheless, it works! I’ll take it.
