File management for Dorico for iPad

I can’t figure out how to get something created on Dorico for iPad over to Dorico 6 on my laptop. I suppose that’s partially because file management on mobile devices somewhat mystifies me—just don’t quite operate the way I think it would. For instance, it seems that Dorico for IPad is automatically saving the most recent changes automatically, that I don’t need, or even can’t, do that myself. Also, where are they being saved? If I knew that I could share them or use airdrop as I would any other file. This doesn’t seem to be covered in what passes as a manual for Dorico for iPad. Any help appreciated.

Yeah, it does seem a bit mysterious! First check where you chose to save the files in your preferences. (Click the menu -three stacked dashes- in the top right corner and select “preferences”). Under “General” select “files” and you should see something like

Mine is set to “On this iPad” as you can see. If you open your Files app, you can find your file in the Dorico folder. I don’t use iCloud, but I imagine it is quite similar.

I would suggest that you be careful if you use both iPad and desktop (or laptop) for the same files. It can get confusing and out of sync.
