File names in "Browse Folder" are modified?

Hi,

A few months ago I made a mistake and changed paths of several folders.

Now I want to make some order in the older projects, and unfortonatly I encounter a weird behavior:

When loading the project, all of the files listed in the “Resolve Missing Files” window contain suffixes of _01, _02, _03, etc, as can be seen below:

Now for the weird part:

Inside the actual Audio folder that was moved I do have all of the files with wrong extentions / suffixes

What do I mean?

“Acoustic Scratches” in the dialogbox listed with extentions of -01 to -09 - in the folder it only has no extention, _10 and _11

“Audio 01” in the dialogbox has suffixes of _01 and _03 but in the folder it only has with no suffix and with _02

“Bass Amp” starts at __01 onto _05 and then continue in _07 - In the folder I have _06

Screenshot of the coresponding part of the folder in Finder:

Every single file that I have on the folder is missing from the “Resolve Missing Files” dialog box.

When I choose “Browse Folder” and I give the Audio folder nothing changes.

Either way, the project loads with NO AUDIO, only MIDI - while the .wav files from Finder are the exact files that I use to have on my project and I can play them perfectly outside the project.

How can I fix this?

Thank in advance!

Sorry to bear bad news: If the files are not on your hard drives or network drives then there is not much to fix.
Having a file with a name similiar to the one missing has zero relevance on a computer. Either the file names matches to required name 100% or it is not the correct file.

Maybe your existing files sound like the mssing ones and you can start to manually change them in the project one by one. It is going to be a lot of work, tough.

Have you tried to search any of the missing files in your o/s? Or any external drives you might also use?

If Cubase is referencing them then they must have existed at some point.
