Film template - huge time signatures

Good evening Doricons!

Is that a term? Well, now it is! :slight_smile:

Quick question for Top Doricon John Barron – in your video below, at 17:46, you refer to “film template”. Where can I find that?

Or generally, how do I change normal sized time signatures, to the huge time signatures?

The same logic is kept in V2: you’ll find the big meters in Engraving options.

The film template is the film orchestra template from the orchestral section in the hub.

Choose to display large time signatures in Layout Options, customize size and position in Engraving Options.

Peter, I just checked the bit after 17:46 - strangely enough I have no problem at all with John Barrons speed of language here :slight_smile: - with English not being my mother tongue.
One thing might be helpful in these situations: if you hit the space bar on your computer, YuoTube will stop playback (so one has time to ‘redigest’ the recent input), then hit the space bar again to resume playback.

Peter, have a look here:

It’s pretty simple, Peter:

  1. Open Layout Options, make sure the ‘Full score’ layout is selected on the left-hand side.
  2. Go to the Time Signatures page.
  3. Choose ‘Show once per bracket’.
  4. Scroll down and choose ‘Narrow, sans serif’.
  5. Click Apply and Close.
  6. Open Engraving Options, choose the Time Signatures page, scroll down to ‘Time signatures centered on brackets and braces’.
  7. Set ‘Vertical alignment relative to bracket’ to ‘Top’.
  8. Click Apply and Close.
