I was able to clean most of the Finale xml issues but the time signatures in the score show on every part but I have it set to time signature per bracket. Though the title, composer, etc show in project info but not in the score or parts.
Thoughts?
As far as the title, composer, etc. are concerned. That is only in the Flow information. Click on Project on the left of the Project Info screen then down at the bottom copy it from Flow 1 Toro Mata. Click apply and close. The tokens shown on your page templates are for Project Info tokens not Flow tokens. Also, the paragraph style for the text frame having composer and arranger data is causing a CRLF after the composer token for some reason. If you select the top handle on that frame and drag it upward, you will see Composer data. So validate the correct paragraph style and make sure no extraneous CRLFs are in that style.
As for the large time signatures by bracket, I’m not sure what is causing your setting which certainly is present from being displayed. Maybe providing the xml file would help determine why. Imported files can be a bit annoying sometimes… hang in there. Someone will help figure that out.
There actually is a carriage return between composer and arranger in the data in the Composer field in Project Info. You can see this by copying the info there and pasting it into a text editor. I suspect this was intentional, in order to get the composer and arranger to display on separate lines, but it’s true that the frame needs to be enlarged to accommodate. (Paragraph styles can’t add carriage returns.)
I’m not sure what’s going on with the time signatures either. I do see that most of your time signatures are local, but deleting those doesn’t cause the time sigs to display as desired. (If you select a time signature, then all of the time sigs at that position should turn orange; if only one turns orange, then it’s a local time sig. This seems to happen often with XML Imports.)
Select All
Filter by time signature.
Delete.
Re-apply.

Right, that’s what I get – but the OP wants time signatures per bracket. It looks like the settings are correct for that, though I may be missing something.
Ah: yes. Don’t know why it’s not working. Though there is a Bracket Change.

I have managed to get the time signature to display once per bracket, but at a cost (time and effort).
Do this on a duplicate of the project!
- In Write mode: Select All
- In Edit > Filter make sure that Select All is active
- Filter for Time Signatures
- Delete
- Re-input the Time Signature
- In Setup mode: select Percussion and Keyboard and press Delete then choose Delete Player Only
The 6/4 time signature should now appear as selected in Layout Options - once per bracket.
The cost: re-adding the Percussion and Keyboard players to what are now empty layouts and re-inputting their notes, etc. I would suggest that, before doing anything, their notes, etc. be saved in another location so that they can be copied and pasted into the re-created layouts. I don’t know whether the problem was caused by the players, their layouts, or even the notes, but hopefully what I have discovered will assist any Dorico “detectives” (the development team and any forum users who like a challenge) in discovering what is happening (or not happening, as the case may be). This is totally a guess as I have not tried anything further than what I have described above, but it might be possible to fix things by doing something in Edit Percussion Kit and changing the keyboard to another keyboard instrument.
In project info I did not think to choose project to enter the composer/arranger info. Thanks for pointing me in that direction.
Interesting solution, but not sure it is worth the effort to delete and re-input the percussion and keyboard parts. Thinking I will just stick with how the time signatures look for now.
That’s completely up to you. I provided what I discovered to assist those who have the time, the inclination, the skills and the perseverance to dig deeper.
What if you copied the notes to new Players?
I did not try that.
Apart from what I detailed earlier, I did notice that the Trombone and Cajn layouts display only a completely empty screen (no staves, text, etc.) and the Keyboard layout contained many open time signatures, even after the procedure I described (but without deleting the Percussion and Keyboard layouts).
It seems to work this way, without deleting existing elements.
- Select the 1st note of the jawbone and add a bar (Shift+B, 1)
- Select the same note (now bar 2) and apply the time signature (6/4,3)
- Switch to Galley View, select all in the first bar with the system track
- Set the Filter to “select”
- Filter: time Signatures
- Delete
- With the system track, delete the first bar
You might need to check that it doesn’t create problems elsewhere, though.
