I finally took the decision to upgrade to C7, after trying out one of the opposition for a month or so and finding it lacking, especially for MIDI composition.
The first thing that struck me was how much smoother Cubase 7.0.5 felt compared to the 7.0.3 demo I’d tried, so it’s great to see how much progress has been made. I’m still not happy with the poor text rendering in the editors, but I’ll probably learn to live with it as I come to use 6.5 less, and maybe one day Steinberg will accept that some people at least find it an issue. Otherwise, apart from the strange truncation of names in the mixer, I’ve come to like the new interface, now I’ve lightened it all up.
