First bar number problem

The attached Dorico file was exported from Cubase. How can I get rid of the bar number in bar 1?

Hi @SugarFree, just select it (in Write mode) and press Delete.

(An explicit bar number like that represents a bar number change. When you delete it Dorico reestablish the normal numeration of bars. You can then decide how you want the bar numbers to appear in a specific layout from Layout Options>Bar Numbers)

Thanks Christian. Apparently, I tried to delete it in Engraving mode, and that didn’t work.

Yes: such editing that has to do with the semantical aspect of items (as in this case deleting a bar number change) needs to be done in Write mode.

In Engrave mode you can adjust how things look and are positioned graphically.
