First few seconds of audio in video file missing

I’ve imported video and its audio until now with no problem.

Today I imported a video and the first few seconds of audio were missing and the rest was out of sync.

I fixed it by “extract audio from video” - and that worked and I was able to sync the two up for scoring.

Any ideas why the first part of the audio on the video import was missing?

All help appreciated.

I may have solved it - I was going back and forth between a video editing program and Cubase. I think my machine got confused on the codecs. All is well. I was considering a reboot, which usually solves stuff like this, but it was unnecessary.
