With something like this I don’t think Dorico should take the line of one ‘right’ way. At the moment I have to ‘force’ durations to comply with the excellent practice of putting fermata in all parts on the same beat.

The distinction is that the conductor must stop and wait for the soloist. So all other players expect a fermata to go along with that, and the soloist ignores that stop and plays the part as written.
