Fishman TriplePlay detected and MIDI received, but Dorico does not enter notes

Hello everyone,

I’m experiencing a strange issue with Dorico Pro 6 and my Fishman TriplePlay.

My setup

  • Windows PC
  • Dorico Pro 6 (latest version)
  • Fishman TriplePlay wireless MIDI guitar

The TriplePlay works correctly:

  • It is recognized by Windows.
  • It works perfectly in REAPER and other MIDI applications.
  • The MIDI activity indicator in Dorico responds when I play the guitar.

I also generated a Dorico Diagnostics report. The log clearly shows that Dorico is receiving MIDI note events (MIDIPitches), so MIDI input is definitely reaching the application.

The problem

When I enter Note Input mode and play the guitar, no notes are inserted into the score.

What I have already tried

  • Reinstalled Dorico completely.
  • Restarted Windows.
  • Created a brand-new empty project.
  • Restarted the audio engine.
  • Connected the TriplePlay before launching Dorico.
  • Verified that MIDI data is reaching Dorico (confirmed by the diagnostics).

Since the diagnostics show that Dorico receives the MIDI notes, I’m wondering whether there is a setting that prevents MIDI note entry into the score.

Has anyone experienced this with Fishman TriplePlay?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much!

Dorico can only receive MIDI data on 1 channel. I don’t know what might cause it to stumble on input but you can try setting each string to MIDI channel 1 and it should function like any other controller.

… and welcome to the forum.
