Five Systems in one page

Hi! Does anyone know how to fit five systems on one page? I’ve tried but even if it has space, the system from 2nd page still there. Please, some enlighten

This is called Casting off and is controlled via Layout Options:

I have 5 “lines” I want to fit in one page. It’s distributing 4 and 1. But I have enough space to put it on one page…

Press Shift-Command-L to go to layout options. On left side go to staves and systems-then casting off. Then set and check fixed number of bars per system and systems per frame as desired.

You might have some manual overrides. Can you please upload this part of your project?

If nothing else, turn Signposts on and send a screenshot of the System/Frame Breaks:

It would be best if you can share the file to see what’s happening. Maybe you have a hidden system or frame break. Turn on your signposts and see.

I think I have some different layout because I created a double guitar in order to have different articulations on both (Notation and TAB). Maybe because of that? The work is not mine so I can’t upload it without permissions… Sorry my friends! you are amazing here at Dorico’s Forum

It was that!!! I just raised the number of systems and it worked!! You are genius! And I feel so stupid with a new software…

@FILIPE_PEREIRA_FARIA please feel free to ask here if you cannot work something out, it is often quicker than trying to work out what to do yourself if you are new (although even experienced Dorico users come here to ask if it is an area they are not usually in).

Gradually you will learn what you need to, as we all are doing … :slight_smile:

That option “scale by frame height” means that Dorico puts -1 than the set number on pages with a shorter music frame.

The first page generally has a shorter music frame to accommodate the title, composer etc.

So what that means is: if “scale by frame height” is active and you set the number of systems per frame to 5, then only 4 will appear on the first page.

Deactivate that option if you always want 5 systems per page, even on page 1.
