Can I request that there is an option for the filter menu to float or be available in a sidebar?
How about the way Finale does it?:
Press 2 predetermined modifier keys and click on the screen–the filter menu window appears. Checkboxes are available for all categories–check one or any combination. The selected filters are available for all copy and paste operations until the filter is reconfigured for different filtering options.
I don’t think we will ever make the Filter menu appear as a floating panel or indeed as a panel in Write mode, I’m afraid. But we do plan to add a dialog that will allow you to set a combination of items to be selected/deselected in due course.
No chance that that dialogue could stay open?

No, this feature hasn’t yet been added to the software.
I use KeyboardMaestro (Mac) to produce a floating palette window (on cmd-F) so all the filter options can be called up with a single keystroke. Within KM each choice just calls up the matching Filter menu item. Fantastic to use and easy to set up.
(PS: I’d love to know if Articulations will ever be added to the Filter menu)
