Flow lay out Lock

After completing the first flow layout, I moved on to the second flow, turning off the first and working only with the second. But when I turned the first flow back on, the layout was out of tune, like a score gone astray. Even with ‘Lock Layout’ set, the first flow still shifts when reactivated. If I want the first flow to remain exactly as composed, must I keep it playing together with the second flow at all times? Or is there another way to preserve the original harmony?

Since the full score is too large, I am working with only partial flows enabled.

Is this the same question you already started a thread about a few hours ago?

If the replies you got there weren’t sufficient, it would be better to continue in that thread instead.

Or am I misunderstanding you, and you’re talking about something else now?

This is a different topic.

This is regarding an issue where the layout becomes distorted when I uncheck and then recheck the “Flow” option.

Ok, I’ll let smarter people than me answer. (I don’t understand the question.)

I think especially if you’re working on vertical spacing in Engrave Mode, you shouldn’t do it before having all your pages showing up (including different flows, but also title page etc…)

Do you usually work with all flows enabled? When working on a part layout, should I enable flows only partially for the full score and keep all flows enabled for the parts?

I never disconnect any flow (unless on purpose if I create a draft flow that I assign to a specific layout for example).

Do you do this for computer performances reasons?

Yes

If I have all of them turned on, it slows down.

If I disable the flow for certain sections of the full score, does that affect the flow of the part layout?

No, layouts are independent (if I understand correctly your question).

You can even remove all the flows from the full score, they will remain visible in the part layouts as long as they’re still connected.

Is there a way to lock the layout for a specific flow only?
