Flow title appearing above flow heading no matter what I do

When I do this …

I get this …

… even when I have removed flow title from the first page template.

The following page template (where the flow heading isn’t used) still has the flow title on the top line as I require,

but I don’t want it to appear above the flow heading on the first page of each flow.

The wording in the layout setting selection led me to expect the flow title to disappear from the top line. How can I accomplish this?

Something I just did (like just getting it to re-format the score seems to have done the trick.

Sorry about that. (if only “apply” meant what it says).

Without seeing the file I can’t tell you what was actually going on but in general, the Apply button does, in fact, do what it says.
