I apologize for bringing this up again, but I can’t seem to understand how to make flow titles show up in Galley view so I don’t have to scroll forward and back to see where I am. I think the Layout properties are they way you told me to set them, and everything is fine in Page view–just not Galley. Thanks.
On Windows the Flow Name is always shown in the window top line (both galley and page view)…
There is no option to change this (AFAIK)
Note that the flow title in the window top line only changes when you select something. So just scrolling/navigating to another flow will not give you a clue as to where you are.
It’s easy enough to click somewhere so it’s just a minor thing, but it would be nice if your position in the project could be made a bit more obvious.
This is something I’d like to bring up as feature request.
Just to give a quick example of my use case where this would be so handy. While I know I see the title of the active, last clicked view, I often find myself working in Galley View and browsing between flows often.
Right now, I’m preparing some Organ & Brass charts for a church so I’m just using the hymnal and work from there. So I’ve found it to make the most sense to do a separate project for every 100 hymns using flows. So I have a project for all the 300s, 400s and so on. Then within the project I like to work in Galley but need to at times scrub between several hymns.
I do like the <cmd + G> shortcut but that also not always helpful. Just a simple visual representation of the flow titles would be incredible.
I put together just a quick suggestion of something I’m imagining would be super helpful to me. Just above the view are the Flow Titles.
Just yesterday I was working on a project with dozens of small and similar-looking flows, losing my place on more than one occasion and starting to dream of interface improvements. In the end I didn’t take the time to make a full FR with a graphical mockup, but how it looked in my head was pretty much exactly how you have it here. Way to make your entrance on the forum!
Thanks. Been a long time user with Doric Elements and just earlier this year used the sale to jump up for Pro. Been really loving all the capabilities and am getting a ton of use for it. But this is something that I’ve already been missing for years. So I thought it was time to try and throw it up in the forum. This place has been such a helpful resource.
To @Zalde’s comment: It would really be helpful for that flow title to update. I played part of the the second flow, stopped, and the title of the first flow was still on the screen. If it takes too much resource/CPU update in real time, an update on Stop would be good.
