Flows and Page Templates Shouldn’t Change Vertical Spacing

Inserting/Reallocating Flows and Overriding Page Templating Should Not Affect Current Vertical Spacing

Dear fellow Dorico users,

Have you also experienced inconvenience when inserting or reallocating flows, or when overriding page templating, because it unexpectedly alters the current vertical system spacing? If so, I encourage you to share your experiences here, so that we can collectively highlight the importance of resolving this issue.

This problem is already known to the developers, but unfortunately it has not been resolved in Dorico 6. I would therefore like to request that it be addressed in a future update.

At present, the only known workaround is to add a new flow or a new page template override at the very end of the project, then select the newly added pages and move them forward. However, this method is not very effective.

Furthermore, even if one tries to avoid the problem by entering text as system text, the vertical system spacing changes, which makes the workflow very inconvenient.

I kindly ask the Dorico team to consider fixing this issue in a future update, as it significantly affects workflow efficiency and usability.

Thank you very much to the Dorico developers for your continued hard work and dedication to improving the software. Your efforts are greatly appreciated by the community.
